Yay You Can Have A Maizey Too...

Ughh isn't the first day back after a super fun long weekend the worst?? Since I didn't actually take any vacations this summer (except for a day here and there) I decided that I would extend my Labor Day weekend and take off yesterday. Didn't really do much except hang out with my friends, bbq, cocktail and laugh which is 4 of my favorite things in the world anyways. It was heavenly to not have a damn thing to do all weekend long.

Now for something new and adorable! Awhile back I won an awesome giveaway to get a custom made blog button from Redbud Designs. I had always seen other buttons on all of your blogs and was super jealous for one of my own. After much emailing back and forth with the extremely patient and talented Sharon. She made me this...

Rachel's Pink Thoughts

Doesn't Maizey look fabulous?! That picture is from the day I got her, I drove all the way from New Jersey to Michigan and she was just a 1.5lb ball of fluff. The button is perfect it incorporates all things that I adore Maizey, leopard print and PINK! So I think that it would look fantastic on your blogs so feel free to take it today! I have a strange feeling that my new fall giveaway coming up will have something to do with all my blogland lovelies and my new button hmm...

Is Anyone Else Excited...

Ever since I saw my first episode of Jackass I have loved me a skater boy (cue annoying Avril Lavigne song). Something about Bam Margera and the way he's all bruised and banged up and he looks like he smells but he probably smells fabulous something like sweat, dirt and axe body spray. I know how crazy I sound but give me a boy who can skate and make me laugh simultaneously and it's like Christmas morning! My friend Amanda and I were talking about ugly-hot guys last night you know someone who isn't neccessarily the hottest guy but because he either has some swagger, humor or a sexy accent (if he has all three then ohh what a trifecta) then he is immediately attractive. This brings me to Mr. Rob Dyrdek while he is adorable in his own right because he has the swagger and the humor it pushes him over the edge for me. Enjoy the Season 2 trailer for his show on MTV Rob Dyrdek's Fantasy Factory. It's really hysterical and makes me want a bulldog real bad!

Ouch...

Have I ever mentioned that I kinda hate working out?? I don't mind the treadmill so much or even the eliptical but the thought alone of lunges and the pushups makes me so sleepy. I have heard a lot of good things about the 30 Day Shred so I thought I would give it a try. If you have Comcast then you can go OnDemand and find the first 2 workouts for free in the fitness section. So it's 30 minutes of circuit training (2 minutes cardio then 1 to 2 minutes abs or arms) it seemed simple enough but after the first 10 minutes I was sweating it up. It definitely kicks your butt and I didn't even have hand weights to increase it.

OUCH! Can I tell you that I did the workouts on Friday and Saturday and was not able to walk normally til this morning. I was literally on a hunt for Jillian Michael's head on a platter!! Apparently I do not even have any muscles in my legs so I was starting from scratch in the fitness area. My calves were painfully on fire and I had to stand for 3 hours at the Jason Mraz concert on Sunday. Ugh even though the concert was amazing it was really hard to get through standing up. I'm nervous to workout with it again tonight but like Jillian says,

"You don't get an amazing body without sacrifice and hard work!"

Hmm is something missing...

Hola lovelies! Happy Friday!! I just saw this picture from Glamour magazine and was pleasantly surprised to see something Twilight-related without that grumpleton Kristen Stewart to ruin it. The fourth chica is Noot Seear who will be playing Heidi from the Volturi clan. Just nice to see everyone smiling and looking pretty with clean hair. Also I wanted to show you this awesome necklace from Jules Smith called Edward's Smile. Now I know he doesn't actually have fangs but with my new found love of all things vampire I think I have to make this necklace mine. It also comes in gunmetal and silver so go on over and take a peek if you get a chance.

I hope you all have a fabulous sunny weekend. I am going to see Jason Mraz and G. Love on Sunday at Festival Pier in Philly so I am super excited. I have seen G. Love about a million times in concert because my best friend is obsessed and insists on seeing him everytime he comes around. I think it's for the off chance he will lock eyes with her from the stage and fall madly in love. Hasn't happen yet but we'll keep our fingers crossed for Sunday. I've never seen Jason Mraz live but I always listen to his Pandora station and I love his live songs on there so much he is really amazing. Also want to try and see Paper Heart and 500 Days of Summer too so we'll how it all fits in.... ugh why can't the weekend be longer? I think i'll need to take a mental health day on Monday.

Dream A Little Dream...

*Update* The Lord Voldemort i'm referring to in the dream is actually my ex (a nickname my loving girlfriends gave him). I didn't actually have a dream that I called Harry Potter's nemesis to come be with me at the end of the world:0)

I have been having a hectic week in the dream department. They aren't all really nightmares so much as I think my brain trying to tell me something? I am a pisces through and through because I am a super dreamy person, I mean i'll probably stop 2 or 3 times while writing this post just to daydream about something totally unrelated. I really do believe that dreams can be a way for your subconscious to work stuff out and tell you things you wouldn't realize while you are awake (or maybe not want to realize).

I just thought i'd share one with you and see what you think...

I'm at my Mom's house and we see on tv that a huge snow storm is coming and the world is ending... creepy right? I look at my Mom and she is all serious that she believes it so we all start getting upset. I am calling everyone I love so we can all be together for the end because that's what anyone would want right? Well I call Lord Voldemort and all he can say is "Oh bye" and we hang up. It starts to snow really hard and that my dream ends with me just being really upset because he couldn't be bothered to get off his ass and spend the end of the world with me?!

I don't think I need to pull out a Ouija board and contact Freud to figure out what that one means! Yikes that dream stuck with me all week. Any thoughts?

*Little side note* I have been trying to find a place to get pretty pics for my posts because I do hate to do a random google search and not give credit where credit is due. So I was on one my favorite blogs today Miss Elizabeth Marie's It's Unbeweavable and she always has really pretty and lovely pics. I noticed that she had Vi.sualize.us underneath them and I checked it out and i'm in love! Go check out her blog and that site if you have a minute you'll love it too.

A Giggle For Your Thursday...

Umm well you might change that to a WTF and wet your pants a lil' Thursday. I was just wandering around YouTubeland and found this fabulous cooking how-to video. It's called "Cooking With Dog" and stars Francis a gray toy poodle and an unidentified woman who does all the cooking. What the hell??? I just sat there and watched the whole thing with an awed look on my face because it's pure genius. Several things come to my mind...

1st - What does the dog have to do with anything and why does he have a semi-French accent when his owner/pimp/genius is obviously Asian?

2nd - Umm beans and and a ton of sugar really go together? The whole thing looks super gross but have any of you had this before?? Am I missing out on Taiyaki??

3rd - Where can I get an iron like that because I want fish-shaped pancakes and waffles stat!

If you enjoyed this video then please stay tuned because ole' Francis has got more of them and I will keep them coming!

Thought So...

Well as I mentioned below Rachelle Leferve is going to be replaced by Bryce Dallas Howard for the 3rd installment of the Twilight Saga (hehe that name still makes me laugh). I was really wondering why on Earth would she chose to do some random movie instead of being apart of a huge Blockbuster movie like Twilight? Turns out she might not have made the decision.

Here is her response...

“I was fully committed to the ‘Twilight’ saga, and to the portrayal of Victoria. I turned down several other film opportunities and, in accordance with my contractual rights, accepted only roles that would involve very short shooting schedules. My commitment to ‘Barney’s Version’ is only ten days. Summit picked up my option for ‘Eclipse.’ Although the production schedule for ‘Eclipse’ is over three months long, Summit said they had a conflict during those ten days and would not accommodate me. Given the length of filming for ‘Eclipse,’ never did I fathom I would lose the role over a 10 day overlap. I was happy with my contract with Summit and was fully prepared to continue to honor it. Summit chose simply to recast the part. I am greatly saddened that I will not get to complete my portrayal of Victoria for the ‘Twilight’ audience. This is a story, a theatrical journey and a character that I truly love and about which I am very passionate. I will be forever grateful to the fan support and loyalty I’ve received since being cast for this role, and I am hurt deeply by Summit’s surprising decision to move on without me. I wish the cast and crew of ‘Eclipse’ only the very best."

Lameson! If that is really how it went down that completely sucks for her. It's also really stupid for them to change up the character for the THIRD movie! I think it'll make it awkward and even if Bryce can pull off the angry vampire look it'll still be a stretch.

In other recasting news. Here is a short clip of Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner at Comic-Con. UGH my hate for Kristen really runs deep at this point but the fact that the girl couldn't even be bothered to wash herself before going urks me. It's so obvious that she could care less about this character and a movie which is going to make her known for many years to come.

Be grateful bitch you need a bath and a hug asap!

Why Didn't They Recast Bella...

I heard about some interesting news about the third installment of the Twilight movies today.
Oh why couldn't have been that Kristen 'wet towel at the beach' Stewart was recast???
Looks like Rachelle Lefevre is out and Bryce Dallas Howard is in?? Turns out Rachelle had some scheduling conflicts because she is shooting a Dustin Hoffman film during the filming of Eclipse.
Seriously! Seriously? It doesn't even say she's starring in the movie so it doesn't make sense to me why she would drop out of Eclipse!! It seems to me like if you are blessed enough to be cast in a film that will be seen by millions and millions of people and make way more than that, then you stay put and drop everything else. Unless that wasn't the real reason for replacing her?
Either way I thought she did a good Victoria except for the fact that her hair was more strawberry blonde then fiery red. I can't see sweet innocent Bryce Dallas Howard being as intense and scary as it takes to pull off Victoria in the 3rd book but we shall see. Lameson (that is a term my friends and I use when someone or something is completely lame, stupid and/or a waste of time... pronounced lame-ah-son)

Lucky lucky girl

Some Happy For Your Tuesday...

Well now this is fabulous!! By now you should know that I love me a cute doggy and a happy ending! That is why this story made my Tuesday.

Daizy, a 4-year-old Blue Lacy, is a survivor. For 10 months after Hurricane Ike, she was missing. The hurricane blew down Joe and Kathy Bauer’s back fence, so they took Daizy and her Blue Lacy companion, Hank, to the Pet Palace in Webster for boarding until they could get the fence repaired.
“We ended up getting a call at 10 a.m. saying the dogs were gone. Both of ‘em,” said Joe Bauer.
The owners of the Pet Palace tell 11 News the two dogs dislocated a metal guillotine-style doggy door, worked their way through the initial set of gates of their outside run, then destroyed a section of chain link gate in the facility’s inner yard. They escaped through a 4- to 6-foot iron fence at the perimeter of the Pet Palace property.
They found Hank that same day wandering in a wooded area behind the boarding kennel, but Daizy was gone.
“The kids would ask when it was freezing cold, when we had the snow, when we had thunderstorms, they would say, 'Where is Daizy? What do you think she’s doing? Is she OK?'” said Bauer.

The family, with the help of their friends and an extended network of Blue Lacy advocates they found online, printed fliers, offered a reward and plastered neighborhoods with yard signs bearing Daizy’s picture.
“I couldn’t bear the thought of her thinking we abandoned her,” said Kathy Bauer. “I just couldn’t live with that.” But for 10 months, Daizy stayed missing.
Last week, the family received the news they had been waiting for. Two of the Bauers' friends said they were positive they’d seen Daizy wandering in a wooded area along a power line easement in Webster, less than a mile away from the kennel where she was last seen, back in September.
With Hank leading the way, Joe went searching for Daizy and found her, just as their friends had promised. But after months on her own, apparently fending for herself, she was too skittish and nervously ran away.
Last Thursday night, Kathy made the trip with them. Neighbors reported seeing the dog emerge late at night from the wooded area through a break in a fence at the end of a cul-de-sac. Neighbors had become accustomed to leaving food out for her. She would make her rounds then disappear back into the woods at daybreak.

This time, Kathy called to Daizy and gave their familiar family whistle. The dog bolted right toward her.
“She sat and lifted her paw for a handshake like she always would. Then she started whimpering,” said Kathy, who admitted she was whimpering a bit, too.
“I was in the middle of the street at 11:45 at night crying and thanking the Lord. It was a wonderful, wonderful reunion.”
The Blue Lacy is the official state dog breed of Texas. The breed was developed in the Texas Hill Country and is reportedly a mix of Greyhound, scent hound and coyote. It's a breed that dog experts predict would be able to fend well for itself if lost or abandoned. And now, although still at times a bit shy and nervous around strangers after her 10 month solo ordeal, Daizy is back at home with the rest of the Bauer pack.

“When you have a bond with an animal like that and you know how strong-willed she is, you just don’t give up,” said Kathy.

Aww isn't that the sweetest story? I would have to be put in a padded cell if Maizey Monroe went missing!! The fact that Daizy was kick-ass enough to survive for 10 months on her own just makes me that much more amazed at how awesome dogs really are. Hope you enjoyed your happy!

Is anyone else worried...

Here are two sneak peek clips of New Moon that were shown at Comic-Con yesterday and maybe it's just my annoyance of the tweens screaming their heads off whenever Jacob or Edward is shown but it don't look very good. I'm trying to give it a fair chance because I have always thought that Kristen Stewart was the world's worst actress. The first movie made me angry because you could definitely not tell that Bella and Edward were in love and that's mainly because she always looked stoned or uncomfortable. I don't know take a look for yourself and tell me what you think. I'm glad they made Alice prettier and her hair looked less like a wig this time. Jacob's stomach... well that is nice, it's really wrong that he is only 17.

They opened the official website for the movie and it's a pretty awesome interactive site. Take a look when you get a chance.

Finally...

Like I promised!! Here is the 1st look at the teaser trailer for Alice in Wonderland! It looks fabulously dark and demented and no I DO NOT think Johnny Depp ripped Heath Ledger's Joker character. It looks very genuine and something all his own.
