Insane...

I am not even gonna try to pretend to seem cool when I talk about what just happened when I saw the trailer for New Moon on MTV. I screamed like a little girl and told everyone to shut up while I watched it! Awesome, amazing and I can not FREAKIN wait til it comes out in November. If one more person tells me it's an eighth grade reading level book and that they think it's stupid how everyone loves it, i'm gonna lose my shit on them. Watch the trailer it looks awesome...

P.S. I will say WTF she's gonna find out Jacob's a werewolf when Laurent tries to kill her? He wasn't even a werewolf then in the book it was all the other guys from the pack!!!! Alright alright it's only a movie I know.

Rachel vs. New Moon Spoilers...

Ohh man I just can't help myself! I always do this with movies i'm super excited about, I tell myself that I won't check out the spoilers but as soon as I see any link with a hint about the movie i'm clickin away! So you know I had to see Edward and Bella getting all hot and heavy in Italy cause i'm single right now and like to imagine that is me running across the courtyard into Edward's open arms ha! In all seriousness I am liking the pictures that have been released so far the cast look fab, Edward's hair is less jungle-like and his abs are just... well see for yourself.

Happy Memorial Day Weekend...

This story made my day a little pinker as i'm stuck in a gray cube til 5.
Army Spc. Zachary Boyd, 19, who hails from Fort Worth, Texas, said he was in his sleeping quarters at Firebase Restrepo in the Korengal Valley of Afghanistan's Kunar province when the Taliban attacked, forcing him to take up a defensive position while clad only in his helmet, protective vest, a T-shirt and his pink "I Love NY" boxer shorts, the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reported Thursday.

A wire service photographer snapped a picture of Boyd rushing into action in his undershorts and the snapshot wound up on the front pages of the Star-Telegram and The New York Times.

The soldier's mother, Sheree Boyd, said her son called Monday night to tell her his picture might be in the Times.
"He said, 'I hear the Times is what they put on the president's desk,'" she said. "Then he told us, 'I may not have a job anymore after the president has seen me out of uniform.'"
Mrs. Boyd said she was not surprised to see her "Zacho" in pink underpants.
"It was typical," she said. "He has always been an interesting little character."

U.S. Defense Secretary Robert Gates on Thursday praised the soldier.

In fact, Gates said he wants to meet the soldier and shake his hand the next time he visits Afghanistan.
"Any soldier who goes into battle against the Taliban in pink boxers and flip-flops has a special kind of courage," Gates said in remarks prepared for a speech in New York.

Now isn't this story perfect right before our Memorial Day weekend begins??

And the "Oh Shut Up" Award Goes To...

Jessica Biel is on the cover of Allure Magazine for June and she is doing a lot of bitchin and moanin about being pretty... waaahhh it's so hard!

Is being too good-looking really a problem for an actress?
"Yeah, it really is a problem. I have to be blunt."

Then she goes on to say how frustrated she that she isn't offered the good roles like Scarlett Johansson and Natalie Portman.

"I just want an opportunity, if you don't like the audition, then don't hire me! But if you don't want to even see me -- that's hurtful. And why? You know nothing about me! OK, maybe you might have seen me in some movie you didn’t like. But… I’m a very 360-person"

Now which is it? Is it hard to be really good-looking for an actress or are you just not offered the good roles?? Cause i'm rather certain that most people think Scarlett & Natalie are some pretty hot chickies!!

Something has always annoyed me about Jessica Biel sure she's a pretty girl nothing extraordinary and her body is amazing but really she wouldn't be on anyones radar if she wasn't dating Justin Timberlake. She always looks miserable in every pic and while I know it must be awful to be stalked by photographers, she never comes across as friendly. Also when was the last time she was even in anything?? This interview just bugged me cause she is totally contradicting herself. There are tons of hot females in Hollywood (she named two of them herself!) who get plenty of work because they are great actors.

Alright i'm putting the soap box away now.

Rachel vs. Textual Harassment...

Ahh yes textual harassement a term I am much familiar and up until a few minutes ago I believed that I invented the term!! So you can imagine my surprise when I opened my email and found this from Modern Tonic.

All of us (fine, some of us) have — at one hungover point or another — scrolled through our text message log after a Lohan-grade bender and shuddered at the walking we let our fingers do the night before. textsfromlastnight.com will, if nothing else, console you with the fact that everyone else is just as big a drunken mess as you (fine, we) are.The site, updated daily, trades in chemically influenced text speak, culling content from visitors who post their textual harassments once sleep/Motrin/greasy hash browns have recalibrated their perspective enough to find their own foibles as hilarious as complete strangers will. To wit:

"(607): I think someone spiked my drink last night. .. Like all 20 of them."

"(847): just woke up. wallet empty. bottle empty. tattoo in pen on my arm. smell like bad sex. woke up alone. and wall-e is playing on my computer. need answers."

"(409): Dude ! Why is there vomit with whole pieces of sushi in the shower when the toilet is not more than 2 feet away ? btw you need to chew your food better,"

"(440): The ticket read 'Found nude in a tree'"

The area code posted with each entry might prompt a search for some local schadenfreude, but you won’t be able to decipher if it’s one of your friends hitting rock bottom. And that's for the best since textsfromlastnight.com is really just a harmless good time. Consider it an antidote to Twitter: totally anonymous, actually interesting and some of its users occasionally get laid.

Whelp here is another website I am now obsessed with. Not only for the fact that you can find such gems like:
(810): Jon just got arrested by the quesadilla police

(616): What?!?

(810): What I actually meant, is I had a quesadilla, and Jon got arrested by the real police

or

(630): do you know how bad I want you right now?

(1-630): As bad as i want you to stop texting me?

(630): is that a hint?

... but also because I finally have somewhere to put all my texts from the weekend. Like the time I made plans to get margaritas with a different person everyday of the week (I don't even like margaritas really and didn't remember doing this until people actually tried to go) or when I texted Lord Voldemort that I could be his friend but I didn't actually like him and hoped his penis turned black and fell off. Yes such sweet gems deserve to be re-read throughout history! I still will be taking credit for the term textual harassment however.

Can't Wait...

Ahh well hello hello they have finally released the actual movie poster for

"The Twilight Saga: New Moon".

I actually really like it and am so excited for the movie to come out to see more of Mr. Pattison of course and also how they adapted the screenplay. As you know Edward is not featured in New Moon really at all so i'm curious if they stayed true to that enough or if they changed from the book completely.

I did enjoy the first movie but there were quite a few scenes that annoyed me because they just wouldn't happen in the book (When he gripped up her arm in the forest - hello Edward would never do that he'd rip her arm off! When he showed up the school in sunglasses - didn't they go into detail when Bella wore the contacts, about how a vampire hates covering their eyes with anything because they couldn't see clearly? Again what the hell is wrong with Jasper and why does he look like Edward Scissorhands??) Alright i'm stopping I know I sound a little nutty it's just a movie.

Also make sure you watch the 2009 MTV Awards!!

During the telecast, the first clip of the Twilight sequel will be shown!
Robert Pattison, Kristen Stewart, and Taylor Lautner will all be in attendance to present the clip.
Show producer Mark Burnett revealed: "Fans can tune-in to the show to see sneak peeks from three of the most highly anticipated movies of the year. These clips have never been seen before and we're very excited that The Twilight Saga: New Moon is one of them."

Rachel vs. the search for the perfect denim jacket...

For some time now I have been on the lookout for the perfect denim jacket, now done properly you can look at chic as Michelle Williams here however one wrong fit or wash and then this can occur. It's a dauting task that I am trying not feel defeated by so if anyone has one that they love please let me know as soon as possible.

In the meantime, it seems that I have found the perfect fit if you're a feret. I mean I had no idea that there was a such a demand for feret clothing but apparently Doctors Foster & Smith feel there is. So if you or someone you love is a feret then this is the jacket for you!

Here is their reasoning behind it...

Bring out the fashionista in your pet ferret (Every feret deserves to shine)

Denim jacket lets your ferret wear the latest fashions too (I mean why should the owner get to have all the fun?)

Affordable, yet fashionable, ferret clothing (Why go the designer route when your feret can look good for 1/2 the price?!)

Rachel vs. Lord Voldemort...

Let me just tell you about my past weekend.
Well no not really 'he who must not be named' and myself are definitely not back togther but I did see him this weekend that has left me with one question....

When exactly can I expect to start knowing better?

Not to get all Carrie Bradshaw on you (even though secretly I love to) but it just seems that you can think you are over a breakup, you can go through the pain and the agony and the staying in your pajamas long after it gets embarassing but all it takes is one encounter and everything kinda comes flooding back.

In the 2 1/2 years that we spent together let's just say that honesty was never really an option with him and despite all my darling friend's attempts to get me to end it for good I always found myself accepting his half-assed attempts to get me back. I think this had a lot of to do with the fact that he was so amazing in the beginning and was so awesome and great with his friends and family it was so frustrating that he wasn't like that with me. It was definitely a really hard time for me where I kinda of lost all respect and confidence and was really miserable. So it ended finally in October and though I had a few hiccups with talking to him we have stayed broken up and both realized that it's just not going to happen. So I did what I had not done the other 500 times we broke up... I started to get over it and I thought I was doing a damn good job until Saturday. We saw each other out and within minutes I received a text from him asking to hang out and just like that I agreed.

Without even having to tell any of my friends I know that this would have been the conversation...

Needless to say Sunday morning this was exactly how I felt...

Yeah so I got nothing. Thanks for reading my rant, I just can't believe that after everything I was willing to fall back into everything that I know is bad for me. Any wise words of wisdom?

Blurb Giveaway!!!

Here is a fabulous giveaway for your Tuesday from one my favorite fellow bloggers Natalie. How I have never heard of Blurb I will not understand but it allows you to make a book out of your blog or pretty much anything else you feel like! She is giving away 5 book credits so head on over to her page and sign up for this giveaway and follow her blog cause she is fabulous! Here is more information from her post about Blurb for those of you in the dark like me apparently...

There was a general outcry of despair when Blurb decided they would not be compatible with Blogger for a while. My cry was the loudest. However, if you haven't heard, Blurb is back to "Slurping" blogs with a vengeance. What is "slurping" you ask? Well, it is just about the coolest development for multitasking bloggers ever. You can actually upload your entire blog into Blurb to create a blog book. It is incredibly easy and the finished product is fantastic. There are a lot of self-publishing companies out there, and I've tried almost all of them. Seriously though, you haven't really seen anything until you have tried Blurb. Blurb is a creative book-publishing platform that lets anyone produce their own bookstore-quality book. Blurb’s BookSmart software is totally free to download and includes a huge (HUGE!) variety of professionally designed layouts. The photo quality is the best I have found and the prices are very competitive. (Like half what I have paid for similar books.)

You can do any type of book that you would like on Blurb; wedding album, cookbook, novel...you name it. My latest and greatest idea is to "slurp" my son's baby album. I am planning to start an entirely new blog just for family photos. When he hits a year, I slurp the blog and have his "Baby's First Year" book done in an hour. Scrapbook done and grandparents get loads of grandchildren photos on my blog. The best of both worlds. I will let you know when I start that new blog. Hopefully by the end of the month.
Blurb has graciously given 5 book credits of $29.95 to be awarded to you! That is 5 winners for this giveaway alone.
Contest Rules:1. Go to Blurb and check out their products. Check out the books in Blurb’s Bookstore at www.blurb.com/bookstore. Leave a comment on this post between now and Monday, May 18th, explaining what you would create if you win a free book from Blurb.2. For a extra entry, let me know in a separate comment that you are a subscriber or follower of Natalie's Sentiments.3. For a third entry, let me know in a separate comment that you have blogged or tweeted about this giveaway.
Five winners will be selected by random generator and announced on Tuesday, May 19th . Good luck!

VGL Gay Boys Coming to a TV near you...

It's no secret that I love me a gay man. So when I found out that 2 of my most favorite vloggers Jeffrey and Cole will now be having a their own television show on LOGO starting June 19th, I was ecstatic!! The show will be done the same as their popular youtube videos which is just them basically sitting at Jeffrey's desk talking into his webcam. They are completely hysterical and make fun all of the stereotypes and dress up like Bernadetter Peters you know just regular stuff like that. The two above are videos they have done in the past and below is a skit to promote their upcoming show. Enjoy and hello they're gay men so they curse and talk about inappropriate things so you might wanna put the kiddies away for a little.

Aww now that's what i'm talking about...

You gotta take the good with the bad and these are definitely some of the winners from Monday night. Here is when taking a fashion risks works for you.
Bar Refaeli - this beautiful silver shimmering Marchesa mini dress is mezmorizing and shows off her fabulous legs.

Justin Timberlake & Jessica Biel - Now when I first saw this Versace dress I wasn't crazy for it but you gotta give her credit it grabs your attention. I love the ruffles, the train and especially the pink satin shoes. I hate it when people don't pair pink and red together thinking it doesn't go well or it's too much that's like saying black and grey don't go together??? Mr. J Timbo looking dapper as always.

Kate Beckinsale - She is one of my most favorite actresses and always looks beautiful but something about this Marchesa dress makes her look regal and stunning. I love how the tight bodice and the feathered skirt look together.

Marion Cotillard - While others went with large fuller dresses, this peachy nude Christian Dior dress makes her stand out amongst the black and grey. I love it with her skin tone.

Amber Rose & Kanye West - She looks like she was poured into that Carolina Herrera dress and I now have a girl crush on her and her shaved head. Mr. West looks very handsome in Louis Vuitton and he isn't talking about how great he is so that's always a plus.

Katy Perry - I was kinda nervous to see what she would show up in cause while I do love her fashion sense this is not the night to show up in this. She did not disappoint though looking amazing in her blue silk Tommy Hilfiger gown and matching arm band accessory.
Diane Kruger & Joshua Jackson - They are one of my most favorite fashion couples cause they always look beautiful together. One look and you can tell that her beautiful flirty dress is Chanel *sigh*.

Diane Kruger (loved it so much I put it in twice), Emma Roberts & Anne Hathaway - Now a lot of people are hating on Emma Atelier Versace dress because well it is plastic disks but I think it's awesome and she looks adorable in it. Come on she's young and it's a fun playful dress people!! Anne Hathaway's purple satin Marc Jacobs dress is also one of those dresses where you can't tell if you hate or not but I don't, I love the color and the fit just not the pageant girl hair she put with it.

Awww hell no...

The Metropolitan Museum of Art's Costume Institute Gala was held on Monday night, it is always my favorite event of the year for fashion and as always it was a night to be seen and to take a giant fashion risk. Now I understand that fashion whether or not you would want/feel comfortable wearing it is an art and you should look at it that way. That being said some stars should have checked the mirror a few more times before the left the house because they were looking a hot mess! Here are a few that I believe deserve a big "Aww hell no!"...

Kerry Washington - The dress was poorly fitted and the mixture of the blue, pink and lace just made her look like a homeless ballerina.

Kirsten Dunst - We expected this... now head on back to the Grand Ole' Opry ya hear?

Leighton Meester - Ohh Gossip Girl would've ripped you a new one for this! Sad part is if she didn't have those hideous pants/leggings on then the dress would be pretty.

Mary Kate Olsen - You tiny little thing you're too young to be the Bride of Frankenstein! Is it me or does she look like she powdered her hair?

Tranny Banks - You spent too much time smiling with your eyes that you didn't noticed someone slapped a ball of weave on your head!!! You should know better!

Madonna - Is that a satin scrunchie?? Did you forget to take it off after you washed your face? Why are you wearing weight lifting gloves with your dress? I have so many more questions but your arms scare me so i'm done now.

Rihanna - Oh Ri Ri you've had a tough couple of months so one can only assume that your judgement in all things fashion is a little skewed right now. I forgive you for wearing football pads to the Met, the face was still stunning though.

Well that's that i'm sorry if I offended anyone with my commentary but someone had to say it.

You can't eat gasoline...

This is awesome....

LONDON – Scientists unveiled on Tuesday what they hope will be one of the world's fastest biofuel vehicles, powered by waste from chocolate factories and made partly from plant fibers. Its makers hope the racer will go 145 mph and give manufacturers ideas about how to build more ecologically friendly vehicles.
The car runs on vegetable oils and chocolate waste that has been turned into biofuel. The steering wheel is made out of plant-based fibers derived from carrots and other root vegetables, and the seat is built of flax fibre and soybean oil foam. The body is also made of plant fibers.
Scientists at the University of Warwick say their car is the fastest to run on biofuels and also be made from biodegradable materials. It has been built to Formula 3 specifications about the car's size, weight, and performance.

I was driving to work this morning and was stuck behind a giant tour bus (the seniors with fannypacks kind not the Rock of Love kind) that was just spewing out all this black smoke. Now this is a bus that is constantly on the road and there are tons more like it and they are just polluting the air nonstop every single day. It's really disgusting and the fact that there are alternative fuels that we can use but just aren't available to us is really frustrating. I try to be as green as possible with little things but this would be a huge step it's just kinda sad that those big gas companies probably won't let it happen as soon as we would like.

Rachel vs. MFDD...

So I was driving into work this morning and heard on the radio that I have yet another disorder! Ok maybe not but they were talking about MFDD - Modern Female Dating Disorder and apparently this has come about because woman feel there is such slim pickins out there that psychologists are starting to think there is something wrong with us.

Are you a woman who is pretty successful in most parts of your life—good job, great friends, nice apartment—but you can’t seem to get it together when it comes to meeting guys and dating? We used to think this was normal, but now there’s a name for the “disorder”: Modern Female Dating Anxiety. Ryan and Jessica Cassady, a husband and wife duo who work (respectively) as a life coach and a clinical psychologist/sex therapist, introduce the term in Stop Wondering If You’ll Ever Meet Him. Apparently, MFDA is when normally self-assured women struggle with dating, developing symptoms like sweaty palms, shallow breathing, and obsessive behavior as a result of modern dating practices. The shift from more formal courtships to casual dating, booty calling, and hookups seem to have stripped some successful women of their confidence. Yes, dating in this day and age is complicated with no clear rules, but we feel a little torn. While it’s nice to know we’re not alone in being short of confidence in the romantic relationships part of our lives, we’re not so sure we have a disorder that requires a name. [Sydney Morning Herald]

Ok so first things first sweating palms and shallow breathing? Yeah not so much but I will say that after dealing with many not-so-nice guys (some of you may also know them as douchebags) I have developed a "i'm kinda over it" attitude. I just think that each time you are hurt or disappointed by someone you love it becomes harder and harder for you to let your guard down for the next guy as unfair as that is. I don't think I have a disorder I just think I am sick of/scared to really like someone just to have it turn into something really bad like a lot of relationships do.

I broke up with 'He who must not be named' (a nickname given by my darling girlfriends) back in October after 2 1/2 years of just crap (that's a whole nother post all together) and since then I have gone on a couple dates but I have made a ton more and cancelled them last minute. I'm not quite sure why I do this because while I am making the date I have every intention of going but when the day actually comes I always have to find an excuse to bail.

Currently I have a date for this week with a guy who is really sweet, smart and must be incredibly understanding because I have been making dates with him for years it seems (we dated a little in high school and have kept in touch off and on since then but never actually hang out). Finally he sent me a message saying that he was trying yet again to get together with me. I agreed and said let's hang out on Wednesday... we'll see how that goes I guess.
